Community Living Camp – Day 1

The much-awaited five-day Community Living Camp commenced on Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Xavier’s Vidyanikethan, Pathanapuram. Filled with excitement, learning, and togetherness, the camp began on an enthusiastic note under the leadership of our camp leaders, Alfiya Nazar and Harishankar.

A total of fifty-two B.Ed trainees participated in the camp. To ensure smooth organisation and active participation, the trainees were divided into four groups, each assigned specific responsibilities such as the media team, food team, cleaning team, and reception team. These duties were rotated daily, providing everyone with an opportunity to experience different roles and fostering a strong sense of teamwork and responsibility.

On the first day, my team was entrusted with the food serving duty. From arranging the dining area to serving meals with care and coordination, we worked together to ensure everything ran smoothly. It was truly rewarding to see everyone enjoying the food and appreciating our collective effort. The experience taught us the joy of service and the importance of cooperation.

Inaugural Ceremony

The camp officially began with a meaningful inaugural ceremony, graced by our chief guest, Mr. Jinith Sajeevan. His inspiring words set a positive and motivating tone for the days ahead, encouraging us to actively engage in every experience. Following the formal session, he delighted the gathering with a musical performance, which uplifted the spirits of everyone present.

Games and Activities

After lunch, from 2:00 pm onwards, the campus buzzed with energy as a badminton tournament and various fun-filled games were conducted. The friendly competition, laughter, and teamwork created an atmosphere of joy and excitement, helping participants bond and connect with one another.

Evening Session: Engage and Energize – The Ice Breaker

One of the most memorable sessions of the day was held at 6:00 pm, titled “Engage and Energize: The Ice Breaker,” led by Shri Liju Yohannan. Through a series of simple yet impactful activities, he imparted valuable lessons on leadership, coordination, creativity, goal-setting, and self-motivation. The session emphasised the importance of empathy and purpose in leadership, especially for us as future teachers. He also highlighted the role of family and support systems in shaping one’s life. The session was both engaging and deeply inspiring.

Dinner was served at 8:00 pm, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food prepared at the camp centre. The dining area was filled with warmth, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness.

Later, at 9:00 pm, the Camp Parliament was convened. Participants shared their reflections, ideas, and feedback on the day’s activities, discussing both strengths and areas for improvement. This session encouraged open communication and collective responsibility in shaping the camp experience.

Overall, Day 1 of the Community Living Camp was more than just a beginning—it was a celebration of unity, learning, service, and joy. With teamwork, creativity, and enthusiasm guiding us, we look forward to the coming days with renewed excitement and energy.
